  Description

  Summary

  Save the Children seeks an organized, detail-oriented individual to provide 30 hours of administrative support each week in a team actively working to improve the effectiveness of emergency and development food security activities around the world. In this part-time benefits-eligible role, you will work closely with program staff providing project management and communicating externally. You are responsible for day-to-day administration of Implementer-Led Design, Evidence, Analysis and Learning (IDEAL) Activity. This position is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) through February 2025.

  What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  Administrative Management and Operations (80%)

  Organize and support IDEAL project meetings and take meeting notes

  Maintain IDEAL project calendar for meetings, events, and travel

  Support the procurement of vendors, consultants, and services

  Assist in managing of consultant agreements and payments

  Aid staff and consultants in arranging travel

  Coordinate project-wide documentation and archiving processes

  Process invoices, accurately code and track project expenses

  Maintain the IDEAL project’s inventory

  Support the IDEAL team in the planning and implementation of the closeout process

  Other tasks as required

  Program Implementation Support (20%)

  Support the planning and logistics of online and in-person knowledge sharing events and capacity strengthening workshops, including but not limited to:

  Procurement of venue and service providers

  Coordination with speakers

  Preparation of event materials

  Required Qualifications

  Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience

  Exceptional organizational skills

  Professional proficiency in MS Office suite

  Professional proficiency in spoken and written English

  Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally

  Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging

  Preferred Qualifications

  Zoom, Miro, Eventbrite, and/or Mailchimp skills

  Proficiency supporting webinars and online meetings

  Experience working in a low-to-middle-income country

  Understanding of international development, emergency programs, and/or food security programming

  Familiarity with United States Government-funded projects, particularly USAID

  Compensation

  Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target hourly pay for this position is $26.56 – $29.69

  Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $24.11 – $26.95

  Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $21.66 – $24.21

  Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program. Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year. Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
