Primary Responsibilities In the role of Hydraulic Modeler/Planner, we'll count on you to: Plan, lead and manage utility planning tasks, working with teams on various utility infrastructure planning and utility management service-related projects. Deliver technical products that meet client expectations. Prepare technical reports and master planning studies. Primary tasks may include: developing and calibrating water, wastewater, recycled water and stormwater hydraulic models, performing GIS data analysis, developing maps and figures, alternatives analysis, system water quality, energy and operations optimization and rehabilitation studies, and developing capital improvement recommendations and plans. Participate in local and national professional organization(s) and internal practice groups. Participate in practice and professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices. Qualifications Required Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree in environmental or Civil Engineering, science, oceanography or closely related field *A minimum of 3 years of experience in hydrodynamic or water quality modeling projects *Strong analytical and problem-solving skills *Strong oral and written communication skills *Experience with Microsoft Office Suite *Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task *Excellent oral and written communication skills *An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Preferred Qualifications *Graduate degree in a closely related field *EIT/FE/PE *Programming and debugging skills (MATLAB, VB/VBA, FORTRAN) *Familiarity with GIS tools (ESRI products) Why HDR At HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
