  Salary: $28.98 per hour plus benefits/Range 35Additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recentGreeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $46.48 per hour plusbenefits.

  Contract Length/ Days: (2023-2024/ 260 Days; M-F 6:00 am 2:30 pm)

  JOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/Objective: The employee performs skilled work in the maintenanceof heating and cooling systems in all district buildings. The emphasis is ontroubleshooting, optimizing performance of equipment, installing newequipment and upgrading older equipment. Work is conducted with littlesupervision. Work methods and procedures usually are determined by theemployee and results are assessed by the supervisor. The employee maysupervise the work of a small number of employees.

  Essential Functions:Performs work according to printed information on the Facilities Departmentwork order system.Accomplishes duties of mechanical maintenance and repair without directsupervision on a daily basis.Diagnoses trouble in cooling and boiler control circuits, supply, andreturn systems, and repairs, replaces, or modifies the malfunctioning unit.Calibrates and adjusts thermostats to maintain a proper balance of temperaturein classroom and work areas.Services, adjusts and maintains flame safeguards on boilers, reads stacktemperatures and gases and adjusts burners for most efficient combustion.Overhauls and maintains large air conditioning and cooling towers.Directs the activities of other technicians.Operates heavy equipment or other tools as needed.

  Additional Qualifications: Ability to follow and understand oral and writteninstructions. Ability to deal tactfully with the public and staff. Ability torespond under pressure to immediate situations while maintaining courteous andprofessional relationships with staff members and the public. Ability toperform work with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to use good judgment andcommon sense. Ability to follow established safety practices. Ability to workindependently and with others. Ability to read and interpret plans(blueprints). Excellent math skills. Ability to perform all functions ofthe position.

  Other Duties:Drives various fleet vehicles daily.Maintains assigned assets, vehicles, and tools.May participate in asbestos removal with appropriate training.Removes snow and responds to emergencies.Knowledge and skills sufficient to perform all duties of the position.Prefers a work environment where flexibility, ability to deal withconflict, a high tolerance for stress, an ability to quickly internalizeinformation and make informed ecisions, and long hours are a part of theassignment.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain acomprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that arerequired of the employee for this job.   Work Environment/ Physical Demands: Ability to sit for long periods oftime, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuityimportant. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
