The Human Resources Training Specialist is responsible for consulting with leadership to assess needs and identify appropriate education and learning solutions in alignment with business goals and objectives. Plan, organize, develop and or effectively conduct employee training on various skills, policy, and compliance areas. This individual will administer human resources policies, programs, and or procedures fairly and consistently, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees and work to ensure that the human resources department supports overall business goals and objectives.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Conduct training needs assessments, in close cooperation with leadership.Determine / develop objectives to be accomplished by training; objectives will form criteria for measures of success.Ensure that courses are valid in content, timely, viable, and support company goals.Research and identify areas in which training is required or beneficial. Conduct vendor research / assessment, selection, and coordination for external training.Evaluate training effectiveness. Oversees the quality of delivered training sessions by external vendors.Evaluate and modify existing or proposed programs; suggest and implement suitable changes.Collaborate with outside training providers when necessary.Facilitate delivery of training both virtual and in person.Plan, organize, design, develop, conduct and or acquire a range of training activities, may include creating teaching and training materials and custom learning literature.Assist with development of programs that groom employees for their next assignment and/or position.Create, coordinate, and participate in the development of new employee orientation program. Conducts the new hire orientations, as available.Work with leadership to ensure that new hire onboarding plans exist, are being followed, are effective, and recommend best practices, etc.Monitor best practices in the training area and introduce it in the organization.Assist in developing budgets for training initiatives.Develop training procedures manuals, including associated standard operating procedures.Ensure all processes are executed in accordance with government requirements and regulations (application of federal, state, and local labor laws).Identify, assess, and implement continuous improvement activities in HR.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field.
Minimum 3 years related experience creating, implementing, and evaluating a variety of content driven training and development courses.
Strong training, facilitation, presentation, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of training plan, curriculum, and aid design and development, including exposure to e-learning.
Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate responsive programs and initiatives including training plans, curricula, and methodology.
