Description:
The HR Manager is responsible for the local delivery and execution of core HR services to employees and managers in accordance with company policies, procedures, and plant operations. As the sole site HR leader, the ideal candidate must be extremely perceptive and capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.
Job Duties
Develops effective working relationships with management and employees to influence and coach them on effective employment practices.
Conducts investigations and recommends actions to effectively resolve policy violations. Seeks counsel from outside legal advisors as necessary to minimize risk.
Maintains up to date knowledge of state/federal employment laws and company policies.
Conduct recruitment for open positions following established process, in accordance with Affirmative Action requirements.
Conducts new hire onboarding and orientation.
Develop and implement fair, consistent and legally compliant human resources policies and procedures.
Acts as backup to the Financial Department for the management and processing of two biweekly payrolls using ADP Version 23.
Respond to and resolve employee complaints and disputes and grievances in accordance with company policies and current CBA requirements.
Administer employee discipline processes consistently, fairly and in accordance with company policies and CBA requirements.
Assist with coordination efforts for employee safety.
Responsibility for communication and compliance with all workforce commissions and other labor regulatory authorities including maintenance of the Affirmative Action plan and annual EEO reporting requirements.
Support of annual benefits enrollment process
Supervision of all HR vendors, including review and approval of invoices
Maintain job-related metrics and reports for use by executive management in workforce planning.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within small to medium sized organizations
5+ years of HR Management Experience
Must have union- experience in negotiating union contracts
Experience processing payroll
