About Human Resources (HR) Assistant

Description We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Jurupa Valley, California. This role revolves around providing administrative support to the HR department in a construction industry setting. The HR Assistant will be responsible for tasks such as data entry, maintaining personnel files, and other administrative duties. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in recruitment and onboarding processes, including I-9 completion, E-Verify, posting job vacancies, scheduling interviews, and processing new permanent paperwork. • Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality. • Coordinate employee training and development programs. • Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration. • Handle inquiries from employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs. • Assist in conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to employees. • Assist in organizing company events and employee engagement activities. • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and preparing documents. • Stay updated on relevant employment laws and regulations. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure HR processes are aligned with organizational goals. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Human Resources (HR) Assistant role or similar position within the construction or contractor industry.

• Proven skills in HR administration, demonstrating a thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures.

• Experience in providing administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings, maintaining HR records, and processing employee requests.

• Proficiency in basic office skills such as computer literacy, data entry, filing, and document management.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Familiarity with labor laws and HR best practices, with a commitment to staying updated on changes in the field.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Proficiency in using HR software and other related tools for efficient HR management.
