Human Resources Coordinator - Payroll & Benefits

About This Opportunity
Rockford Construction is currently searching for a Human Resources Coordinator to join the Human Resources department who will focus on bi-weekly payroll processing and benefits administration. The Human Resources Coordinator responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for exempt and non-exempt Team Members, as well as assist the Payroll & Benefits Manager with all facets of the payroll and benefit functions.
To be successful in this role, you should be familiar with various payroll and benefits such as HRIS data entry, timesheets, FMLA and leave management, benefit enrollments, employment verifications, audits, garnishments and payroll taxes. This is a hands on position that requires close collaboration and communication with the HR Team, new hires and department leaders. Additionally, this position will require a person who is comfortable pivoting priorities as action items arise. This position reports directly to the Payroll & Benefits Manager.
This position provides high-level administrative support of the day-to-day human resource operations as Rockford Construction continues to grows and expand services. Apply online today if this position is of interest to you!
Responsibilities
Foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including timesheets, salary adjustments, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and taxes.
Maintain Team Member records.
Ensure data integrity in the HRIS platform. Troubleshooting issues and working with the support team from our vendors for resolution.
Generate reports in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Create separation letters and follows separation process.
Coordinate benefit administration including open enrollment, new hire enrollment, qualifying life events, and invoicing.
Process drivers record checks and maintain Stake truck driver list.
Assist with FMLA and Leave Management including disability, tracking, and deductions payments.
Launches and tracks mandatory trainings are completed such as harassment and other trainings.
Serve as a point of contact for team member inquiries.
Perform internal audits to ensure data accuracy.
Assist with regulatory communications as it relates to Payroll and Benefits.
Provide timely verifications of employment when requested.
Schedule meetings as directed by the Payroll & Benefits Manager.
Act as back up to the HR Coordinator – Talent, when necessary.
Act as an internal support for Team Member questions as it relates to payroll & benefits.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required in human resources, communications, business administration, accounting or similar.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years working in Human Resources.
Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
Must possess superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance
Maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Construction or manufacturing industry knowledge.
Previous experience using Dayforce, HRIS.

Environmental Factors
The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction sites. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subjected to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times outside the job trailer. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less.
