Human Resources40 hours/week, Full-Time, ExemptThe Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Recruitment and Compensation functions within Human Resources as well as provides generalized administrative support to ensure the efficient and professional operations of the Human Resources division.Essential FunctionsManage the pre-employment and onboarding process for new hires.Accurately enter new hire information and employee changes into HRIS (Vista).Communicate with new hires by phone or email to confirm receipt of offer letters, background check information and provide relevant instructions.Monitor completion of background checks and other pre-employment screenings to ensure compliance with established guidelines.Maintain all databases related to training, licensing, motor vehicles, pre-employment physicals, testing, etc.Complete driving abstracts for prospective candidates as requested.Complete and submit monthly and quarterly union and labor reports.Enters and submits compensation-related data to local or state agencies.Perform front office/reception duties, including, greeting/assisting visitors, and answering and directing incoming calls.Assist with various HR special projects upon request.Perform other related duties as directed by supervision.Essential Qualifications High school diploma with 1-2 years’ office experience and some knowledge of Human Resources.Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidential or sensitive information.Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task with attention to detail.Ability to quickly and accurately key information using keyboards and computers.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced studies or degree in Human ResourcesPrior experience with recruitment and/or onboardingHRIS experience
