FRANKLIN/HAMPSHIRE COUNTIES \$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS HS&ELP Itinerant LeadTeacher POSITION SUMMARY The Itinerant Lead Teacher works with theassigned Site Director during long-term staff absences and during timeswhen children require additional skilled support. The Itinerant Lead maybe reassigned as program needs change, and will be considered forassignment to one specific classroom as openings occur, if desired.Responsible for overall classroom operations in accordance with HeadStart Performance Standards, Department of Early Education and CareRegulations, National Association for the Education of Young Children,and MA Department of Education Frameworks. Work with families andcommunity to implement individualized School Readiness goals. Ensureadequate bus monitor coverage for bus route. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Atleast 21 years of age. Associate Degree in early childhood education orclosely related field. Department of Early Education & Care Lead Teachercertified. SKILLS REQUIRED Basic computer skills: using a mouse, email,Microsoft office Excellent verbal (in-person and phone) and writtencommunication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention todetail Understanding of data capture and tracking methods. Sensitivityto cultural and socioeconomic diversity and the needs of individualswith lower incomes. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Commitment to qualityearly care and education. Complete and maintain EEC ProfessionalQualifications Registry (PQR) and Individual Professional DevelopmentPlan (IPDP). Obtain and maintain CPR and Emergency Pediatric First Aidcertification according to EEC regulations. Practice and maintaincurrent knowledge of the Head Start and EEC Regulations, and NAEYCcriterion (if applicable). Ensure the appropriate supervision ofchildren, including implementation of protocols for the care of youngchildren both in the classroom and on the bus (where applicable). Ensurehealthy and safe environments for young children. Provide support andguidance for teaching staff through ongoing reflective supervision andmonthly observation, including volunteers and interns, as assigned.Ensure completion and posting of weekly curriculum, child anecdotalrecords, child assessments, home visits and family conferences. Engagewith families in creating school readiness goals for children. Work withprogram and community specialists to implement goals through theprogram\'s case management system. Fill in for bus monitor as needed,completing daily passenger logs, pre and post trip bus inspections, ifapplicable. emote work from home will be assigned and determined by yoursupervisor; When schedule requires remote work, expected to be availablefor meetings, calls, responding to emails, and conducting regular dutiesduring standard service/agency hours.
