OVERVIEW:
The Salvation Army Housing Programs were developed to provide both Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing for homeless families transitioning from homelessness to independence. This position is responsible for assisting with general Housing Program operations and services which requires working closely with the Resident Service Coordinator, Housing Program Manager, and the Director. Responsibilities include but are not limited to property management duties, coordination with the Maintenance Department, and coordination and hosting of program meetings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collects, monitors, and logs rent receipts for Transitional Housing programs
Performs unit inspections to ensure program compliance in the areas of safety and sanitation for Transitional Housing programs in accordance with TSA and OSHA safety standards
Assists with program applicant phone screenings
Enforces program policy and issues disciplinary actions when needed
Maintains and inputs Social Services data timely and accurately in the TSA database system
Assists in maintaining updated client case files
Ensures the confidentiality of all Program Participant information
Performs routine inspections of housing program properties
Communicates and meets regularly with Maintenance Dept. staff
Submits maintenance work orders in a timely manner, coordinating with Program Participants, and providing follow up
Coordinates completion of unit turnovers with the Maintenance Department and vendors.
Prepares all housing units for intake/move-in, including unit inventories
Maintains and organizes program inventory and online registry
Facilitates house meetings and helps establish a sense of community among Housing Participants.
Responsible for scheduling and organizing program workshops, assisting with childcare as needed
Networks and collaborates with various community agencies and attends community Social Service agency meetings as needed
Works with program volunteers and interns under the oversight of the Housing Program Manager
Is available for TSA Housing Program emergencies one weekend per month, and on-call at other times for emergency situations related to Program Participant issues
Provides transportation to Program Participants in TSA vehicles as needed
Assists with holiday programs, Family Night, and Alumni activities
Reports regularly to the Housing Program Manager and Director
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Corps Officers
Other related duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or an equivalent of education and experience (Preferred)
CA Driver’s License (Required)
Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)
