Job Overview:The primary role of the Inpatient Hospice Aide-Nursing Student is to provide direct patient care to Hospice of Cincinnati patients under the direction of a registered nurse. The Aide will assist with, and/or perform, basic activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, etc., and the Aide will serve as a provider of companionship and emotional support, even during times of crisis. The position is responsible for knowing safety policies and following approved procedures.Job Requirements:Currently enrolled in an approved program for specific field of study in NursingHigh School Deploma or GED plus completion with passing grade of 1 semester of nursing curriculum studies/clinicalBasic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), Satisfactory completion of 1 Semester nursing clinicalExperience ClinicalExperience Customer ServiceJob Responsibilities:Performs basic patient care tasks under supervision of a nurse, including bathing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, provider of companionship and emotional support, even during times of crisis; follows regulatory and organizational processes and practices to promote a safe clinical environmentCommunicates effectively with the patient's interdisciplinary team, including patient and patient family membersPerforms basic cleaning duties in and around patients' immediate living areasPerforms equipment and supply related quality checks and reports problems/malfuctions appropriately. Restocks supplies as needed.
