Ashwood Farm, LLC (Lexington, KY) has 7 F/T Temp. Horse Groom: (04/01/2024-10/01/2024). 40 hours/week, (Monday-Thursday, Saturday). Split Shift 6:00am to 11:00pm; 1:00pm to 4:00pm. $14.23/hour (OT $21.35) paid weekly on Monday. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation at the company’s sole discretion based on individual factors, including work performance, skill or tenure. All deductions form the worker's paycheck required by law will be made. H-2B application to be concurrently-filed with USDOL. As a horse groom, the worker will be responsible for and assist with the daily care of horse/preparation of horses for training/show. Feed/water horse, clean tack, bathe, brush, and clip horse, apply horse boots and prepare horse to be saddled for show. Clean horse's feet, apply/remove leg wraps/boots and saddle for training. Bathe/cool down horse after training/show. Assist veterinarian while performing physical examinations by keeping the horse calm and under control. They will also assist the farriers as they inspect, remove, apply, adjust, and work with horse's hooves and shoes by keeping the horse calm and under control. Clean/rebed stalls. Hose down horse with cold/warm water. Wrap horse in brace or poultice bandages as necessary. No education req'd, 3 months exp. req'd as Horse Groom. Ability to lift 150lbs with assistance. All tools/supplies req'd, provided at no cost. Random drug testing may be required post-hire at employer’s expense for all workers, both domestic and H-2B. Daily transportation to/from worksite will be provided to the workers at no charge (e.g. designated daily pick-up place). Utilities may be provided free of charge in the backstretch. If the worker completes 50% of the employment contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place, the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical, reasonable and common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, processing and border crossing fees, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). For certified periods of emp. 120 days or more, employer guarantees work equal to 3/4 of workdays in each 12-wk period of total emp. pd.
