The Honors Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver)invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions.Honors Program affiliate instructors may teach one or more Honors courses thatare part of the Honors Program curriculum.

MSU Denver enrolls over 17,000 students, where nearly 60% are firstgeneration and over 55% are students of color. Responsibilities
Honors Program affiliate instructors may teach one or more Honors courses,including but not limited to: HON 1013 Presentational Speaking, HON 2040Introduction to Nutrition, HON 2750 History of the Self, HON 2770 Dynamicsof Change, HON 2800 Scientific Revolutions, HON 2950 Introduction toCritical Theory, HON 290F Art of Learning, HON 4948 Honors ThesisSeminar, HON 4950 Senior Honors Thesis, and HON 390* Honors Colloquiumcourses. These courses are all part of the Honors Program curriculum. MostHonors courses are in-person, but some can be hybrid or fully onlinedepending upon the needs of the program and the availability of theinstructor.
An affiliate faculty member's duties include but are not limited to:teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content tostudents, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading studentwork, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner,addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school,and department policies, and providing online or in person academic supportto students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; providinginstruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learningobjectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, withdepartment course coordination policies; and complying with university-widestudent evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.Applicants may be asked to teach in-person, online, or in hybridcapacities dependent upon course needs. The ability to adapt and learn newmodes of instruction is highly encouraged. Candidates need to be sensitive tothe educational needs of a diverse student population.
Required QualificationsMaster's degree in a field appropriate to assigned coursesAt least one year of teaching experience
Preferred QualificationsDoctorate degree in a field appropriate to assigned coursesAt least three years of teaching experiencePrevious experience with Honors Programs
Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a percredit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semesterbasis. Affiliat faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under theUniversity's benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent onbudget and enrollment.
Qualified candidates may be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
Salary for Announcement
The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a ratedetermined by university policy.
