Way Finders is currentlyseeking a full-time bilingual (English/Spanish) Homelessness PreventionOutreach Specialist. The Outreach Specialist will contribute to ourmission by empowering tenants, landlords, owners, homeowners, andcommunity members to make sound decisions concerning their housingneeds, and through coordination of services with regional providers. Thecandidate may work in a hybrid-remote capacity but in-office work andtravel throughout Hampden and Hampshire counties is regularly expected.Responsibilities include: Outreach and coordinate services to regionalproviders, serving as the Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC)representative for the county; function as primary liaison for externalcontacts in assigned region and co-location sites Provide outreach andassessment in housing court, coordinating services with Housing CourtJudges and staffing Provide outreach to clients in co-location siteswithin the region; assess client needs and provide information,education, and referrals on appropriate resources Determine eligibilityfor financial assistance under currently available housing and rentalassistance programs; process applications for financial services,ensuring files, notes, and documents are accurately maintained in atimely manner Educate consumers about tenant and landlord rights andresponsibilities, rental assistance options, homebuyer readinessinformation, and available community resources Assist client in housingsearches, effective problem solving, and options planning Assist tenantsin the assessment and resolution of potential eviction actions; educatetenant on eviction processes and the housing court system Ensure timelyand effective flow of communication between internal departments toensure the delivery of quality services to the client Provideinformation and outreach to, and interact effectively with the socialservice network, client advocates, community organizations, the landlordcommunity, housing authorities, and court officials Present workshopsfor tenants and landlords Research and remain current on new andmodified housing assistance programs, services, and their relatedregulations to ensure the accurate provision of guidance and assistanceto clients; assist with maintaining and updating agency housinginformation database Provide technical guidance, training, andassistance to appropriate staff on program guidelines, processes,resource availability, housing searches, and in the resolution ofinvolved or complex housing matters Represent agency in communitymeetings with Social Service and legislative groups; participate instatewide, community, and agency meetings as a representative of theorganization\' Requirements include: 2 years\' equivalent experience inhousing, social services, or a related role; a combination of experienceplus an Associate degree may be a substitute Bilingual (Spanish/English)written and verbal skills required Demonstrated ability using MicrosoftOffice applications, and comfort learning new technologies Excellentcustomer service skills with the ability to serve diverse populationsClear, effective, and timely communication skills across all levels ofinternal staff, clients, and constituents Ability to organize andprioritize Valid driver\'s license with acceptable driving record;reliable vehicle CORI Wage starts between \$19.23 and \$24.04 per hourdepending on qualifications.
