The Home Care Assistant worksindependently under the direction of the home care director andcommunity\'s nurses using sound judgment in the implementation of theservice plan. Must maintain a caring attitude towards residents at alltimes and be capable of good judgment in all situations. EssentialFunctions: Performs job functions in a manner consistent with themission and goals of The Loomis Communities. Adheres to The LoomisCommunities Compliance and Ethics Program. Demonstrates an awareness of,a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whomthey interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and otherstakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.Interacts with residents by providing direct personal care, medicationreminders, escorts, transportation, shopping and supportive homemakerservices for residents to promote independence and choice. Maximizesresidents\' overall wellbeing through knowledge of residents\' interestsand using that knowledge to encourage residents to continue engaging inpursuits that foster continued wellness. Attends to the wellbeing ofresidents and includes residents in decision making regarding their carein accordance with a personalized plan of care/service plan. Supportsresidents in daily living decision making regarding care and services inaccordance with established service plans. Maintains and completesrequired documentation. Provides clear, timely communication related tochanges in health, emotion and behaviors to direct supervisor. Meetseducational, training and competency requirements on time includingSAMMS. Responds to emergency situations in a prompt and calm manner andprovides basic first aid care when needed within the limits of trainingand the policies of The Loomis Communities.
