Job Description:Responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner. This is a skilled position involving the operation of various types of construction equipment including but not limited to Loaders, Back Hoes, Track Hoes, Excavator, Maintainer, etc.
•Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
•Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
•Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
•Perform minor servicing and maintenance.
•Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield.
•Prepare equipment failure analysis as needed.
•Troubleshoots equipment problems and escalates the most complex problems to higher levels.
•Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
•Keep time and material records.
•Travel from interstate highway to rural dirt roads from various locations.
•May assist Laborer at various job sites as needed. May perform physical tasks involved with laying pipe and utility lines, and/or tasks involved with road construction and laying asphalt, etc.

High School Diploma or GED required.
1-3 years direct equipment operating experience required and 1 year of pipeline, construction or related industry experience preferred.
Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
Availability for overnight travel to various job sites is required.
80% travel is expected.
This position will require an individual to hold a valid driver’s license.
CDL Required. In addition, must have one year of CDL driving experience or an entry level driver training certificate.
When a higher-level position exists candidates with greater qualifications may be considered for the position.
