　　Job Summary

　　The Excavator operator will assist with all drainage/retaining wall activities and all excavations throughout our project.

　　Essential Functions

　　Equipment operation under the direction of the supervisor

　　Bench and secure all excavations during the operation

　　Read cut stakes and grade elevations

　　Recognize hazardous conditions and report to the supervisor

　　Dig around and assist in exposing live utilities

　　Work day, night, and weekends as required

　　While operating equipment, communicate with others using verbal and non-verbal hand signals

　　Perform other labor-related duties as assigned by the supervisor

　　Required Skills & Experience

　　5 plus years of excavation/finishing experience on heavy highway road construction projects preferred

　　Ability to bench and secure all excavations during operation

　　Reliable transportation

　　Physical ability to perform assigned labor-related tasks (climbing ladders, climbing in and out of ditches)

　　Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

　　General labor skills

　　Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools (hammers, sledgehammers, pry bars, screwdrivers, etc.

　　Must be able to work in hot, outdoor conditions and follow directions
