We have an immediate position available for a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Ottawa Landfill in Navan, ON .

　　Summary: Under general supervision, the Equipment Operator operates various equipment including; dozers (D6 size), excavators, backhoes, front end loaders, dump trucks, and trash trucks.

　　Location : 3354 Navan Rd Ottawa, ON K4B 1H9

　　Pay rate : $31.77 per hour

　　Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Operates dozers,

　　Operates backhoe, loaders and excavators as required.

　　Operates forklifts and dump trucks to transport trash and materials.

　　Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and related assignments.

　　Performs routine inspection and maintenance on equipment such as checking oil, coolant, and tires.

　　Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

　　· Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

　　· Occasional weekends when needed.

　　Minimum Job Requirements :

　　High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

　　Heavy Equipment Operator, 5-7 yrs minimum experience required.

　　Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests.

　　Working Conditions And Physical Effort:

　　Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, , dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.

　　Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

　　Ability to operate heavy equipment.

　　Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

　　Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, undercarriage, checking all fluid levels.

　　Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
