Heavy Civil Estimator

　　We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and enthusiastic Civil Construction Estimator to join our client's team in Charlotte, North Carolina! The Heavy Civil Estimator is responsible for quantity takeoff, solicitations, interpretation of plans and specifications, proposal development and assembling a complete estimate for concrete, asphalt, road, and utility construction projects.

　　A typical project looks like:

　　Reading, understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications

　　Soliciting quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, estimate to be 95% complete prior to formal review with Senior Estimator

　　Preparing a rough schedule of project for determining the time frame

　　Preparing competitive job estimates by interpreting drawings and bid documents and performing takeoffs for labor, equipment, and materials

　　Reviewing estimated productions with superintendents to finalize the bid

　　Other duties as assigned per project

　　Do you have what it takes?

　　High School Diploma and bachelor's degree or equivalent

　　Experience in Airport or heavy highway construction estimating i.e. runways, taxiways, parking aprons, retaining walls, site work, underground utilities, excavation and earth moving

　　FAA and/or DOT experience preferred

　　A record of successfully estimating Airport/heavy civil construction projects.

　　Have a working knowledge of means and methods, crew composition, and production rates for concrete and steel bridge construction is preferred.

　　Proficiency in estimating software system

　　High energy, able to sustain occasional long hours
