JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties The mission of the National Oncology ProgramOffice is to improve the lives of Veterans with cancer through PrecisionMedicine by implementing a learning healthcare model to quicklytransition new knowledge into clinical practice and to maximize learningfrom clinical practice. Duties and responsibilities include, but are notlimited to: Develop and implement enterprise level strategies andprinciples for the integration of genomic information resources bydefining standards for data architecture, format, quality, database, andobject storage design. Guides decision-making for administrative andprogrammatic aspects of agency operations and management. Works withclinicians to create tools for the visualization and utilization ofprecision medicine knowledge and/or data sets for clinical decisionsupport. Analyzes and evaluates, on a quantitative and qualitativebasis, the effectiveness of these projects/initiatives in meeting theestablished goals and objectives of the National Oncology Program OfficeAnalyzes internal and external environment to identify opportunities forpolicy modification to adhere to the National Oncology Program\'smission. Provides routine reports to the national oncology programleadership and upper-level administration on the clinical, technologyand business operations and use of resources and capabilities. Extractsdata from various precision medicine data sources and provides specificinterpretive summary information to assist VA management and otherprograms in the planning, development, and implementation of clinicaland research initiatives. Ensures precision medicine data is gatheredfrom VA internal or external contracted laboratories and harmonized,extracted, transformed, and loaded to VA environments in a timely andaccurate manner. Performs other related duties as assigned.
