What you'll do:Develop, maintain, and implement a comprehensive health & safety plan incollaboration with the global H&S team as well as the executive leadershipof the business units. The plan must address working environments in thermalpower generation and energy distribution plants, new construction solar andwind sites, facility O&M management, and the HVAC mechanical,electrical and plumbing (MEP) contractors in the Commercial and Industrial(C&I) construction fieldsManage H&S databases and provides required monthly statistical reports toENGIE NA Business Unit (BU) corporate and Business Entity (BE)executives. Track the performance and progress of ENGIE Generation andServices action plans, programs and processesCollaborate with the Global H&S teamRepresent North America within the Global H&S teamLead a North American safety community with the H&S staff throughout ENGIENorth AmericaConduct regular onsite trainings, supervision, compliance audits,incident investigations, and safety cultural assessmentsLead and direct all serious incident investigations that result in a lost timeaccident. Apply Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) tools when conductinginvestigations to determine causal factors. Identifies countermeasures toprevent recurrence and eliminate deviations from the standardEnsure conformance to the standard results in compliance to the regulationResearch and implement (if applicable) new or revised OSHA (US) /OH&S Act (Canada) regulatory requirementsManage the selection of third-party H&S auditors, consultants, and contractorsImplement a communication strategy that promotes leadership engagement betweenmanagement, front line supervisors, technician / craft personnel andcontractors to create a culture where H&S is a principle and not a priorityImplement a safety first culture within ENGIE North America, includingempowering all employees with Stop Work Authority associated with safetyBenchmark the current state of power generation, O&M service, andconstruction-oriented safe work procedures against a "Best in Class" standardCoordinate reviews on contractor safety plans and procedures to ensure theirstandard is equal or more stringent than ENGIE NA's safety criteria asstipulated in the procurement Terms & ConditionsConduct process safety assessments at sites with operations and maintenanceresponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned
What you bring:Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management, Engineering or Business;Master's Degree a plusMinimum ten (10) years' experience in commercial and industrialconstruction environmentsSubject matter expert in OSHA (US) CFR 29 Parts 1910 / 1926 and OH&SAct (Canada) regulationsExhibit mastery of root cause failure analysis tools and their application forrecordable eventsPossess superior verbal, written, interpersonal, public speaking,facilitation and presentation communication skills when interacting with bothinternal and external stakeholdersExperience in commercial and industrial construction environmentsExhibit high levels of emotional intelligence as a team leader in the creationof a desire-based vs. c mpliance-based safety cultureProficient in database management, Pareto analyses and the design ofexecutive level dashboard / graphical displays in direct support ofessential job functionsIn-depth knowledge of the change management process
