  Job Description

  Hawai'i Pacific Health is a not-for-profit health care network with over 70 locations statewide including medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers serving Hawai'i and the Pacific Region with high quality, compassionate care. Its four medical centers - Kapi'olani, Pali Momi, Straub and Wilcox - specialize in innovative programs in women’s health, pediatric care, cardiovascular services, cancer care, bone and joint services and more. Hawai'i Pacific Health is recognized nationally for its excellence in patient care and the use of electronic health records to improve quality and patient safety.

  This summer, internships will be offered at various departments at Hawai‘i Pacific Health! If you are looking to gain first-hand experience in a health care setting or want to confirm your interest in the health care industry, we have a position for you!

  The Hawai’i Pacific Health internship provides exposure and interaction with Hawai’i’s leading health care organization and health care professionals. Previous interns rave about learning more about the health care industry and culture, interacting with patients and their families, and understanding the team effort involved in the health care industry.

  Minimum Qualifications: High school junior or senior standing during the 2023 – 2024 academic school year.

  SUMMER INTERNSHIP DETAILS:

  Dates and Work Schedule:

  • June 17 to July 26

  • Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, subject to change pending department placement

  Facilities / Locations:

  • Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children

  • Pali Momi Medical Center

  • Straub Medical Center

  • Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group

  • Hawai‘i Pacific Health, Shared Services

  Departments:

  • Patient care and non-patient care positions

  • Department placement will be determined upon offer

  o You will receive an email to confirm the receipt of your application.

  o What if my application is incomplete?

  o You will be notified by email if your application is incomplete. The email will include step-by-step instructions that will walk you through how to complete your profile and re-submit your application. You will need to resubmit your completed application by the deadline indicated above.

  o What should I expect after I submit my application?

  o The Hawai‘i Pacific Health Human Resources team will be reviewing all applications. Due to the high volume of applications that are received, please allow time for processing. We will be contacting those as needed for follow-up and next steps via phone and email.

  o Will I be required to submit any other documents?

  o If you are selected to participate in the internship, you will be required to present official transcripts at a later date if you submitted unofficial transcripts as part of your application.
