Job Description:Administers medial care and medications to sick or injured students; responds to emergencySituations and assists in health screenings. Performs various clerical or office duties, as assigned,Depending upon the needs of the building.Responsibilities and duties of this position include:1. Administers first aid to sick or injured students according to District and State guidelines.Determines whether students should remain in health office.2. Maintains current health and accident information on students and completes and updatesRelated reports, records charts and logs.3. Observes students for emotional, behavioral and Nonmedical needs and makes referralsas appropriate.4. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties for the health and main office areas, includingPreparing lunch applications, tracking attendance, data entry, typing, filing, answeringTelephones, and inventorying and ordering supplies. Provides office clerical coverage inthe absence of secretarial staff.5. Administers medication authorized by a physician and in compliance with Stateguidelines; observes students for medication reactions.6. Reports health status of students to staff, bus drivers and parents as required.7. Conducts health, vision, height, weight and lice screenings and informs parents ofscreening results as necessary.8. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
