About Our Opportunity
Our Head of Facilities Operations leads the team responsible for managing the association’s facilities and related projects, maintaining and administering the fleet program, and managing the safety and physical security program.
How You Will Spend Your Time
Lead team members according to the association’s leadership philosophy and principles.
Exercise management authority in performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, and other employment decisions.
Accountable for the performance, budget, resources and results of a team with Association impact.
Build trusting relationships and work collaboratively across the association to develop and implement strategic facility plans, which include the following:
Provide facilities that are safe, clean, well-maintained, and that appropriately promote our brand and are supportive of ergonomic standards.
Partner with vendors and contractors for space planning, furniture ordering/installation, architectural, engineering, recycling and other building/grounds maintenance and construction services in a way that mitigates risk and accomplishes the Association’s objectives.
Provide direction for a fleet program that results in drivers who are educated; vehicles that are safe, well-maintained and reliable; and reports and budgets that are accurately and appropriately administered. Provide a positive experience to fleet drivers.
Partner with Chief Security Officer and others to help develop, implement, and promote physical security programs and respond to safety incidents.
Mitigate financial risk to the Association by negotiating leases and contracted services, appropriately determining capital and budget needs, and optimal site selection/organization.
Serve as the primary contact for OSHA, EPA or DOT concerns, and participate on the Crisis Management and Business Continuity Teams.
Evaluate, maintain, and partner with others to administer the corporate risk management insurance program, appropriately ensuring the Association's properties, contents, and fleet, and filing timely claims.
Partner with the Human Resources team to address worker’s compensation claims and reasonable accommodation requests received through the ADA process.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management or a related field. Seven years of relevant experience, including progressively responsible experience leading teams, managing facilities projects and working collaboratively across an organization. Experience working with teams in multiple locations preferred.

Engage in telephone and face-to-face conversation to serve customers and give and receive information from customers, staff, vendors, outside consultants and the public.
Use a computer and similar office technology and tools. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
Speak and make presentations to individuals or groups on technical subjects related to job.
Travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
Successfully interact with and represent the organization to customers, staff, officers, board members, vendors, and/or the public at all levels.
