　　OVERALL PURPOSE

　　The Head of Engineering will play a key role in defining and shaping the Technology vision and strategy at Lula. You will lead and scale a team of 50+ Engineers (local and offshore), Architects and Quality Assurance personnel to execute on this strategy. The role is expected to drive the adoption of the best practices and technologies to achieve excellence in performance, security and customer experience. You will be accountable for the performance and stability of our production platforms working in collaboration with our technical operations team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned engineering leader with a proven track record of building successful teams, fostering a culture of innovation and delivering technical solutions which meet the expected business outcomes.

　　It's not only the leadership and technical skills that we are looking for, soft skills and people management experience are critical. You will also be expected to define and manage budgets and manage key suppliers effectively. This is a senior management role and will be a key member of the Technology Management team.

　　Responsibilities will include:

　　Articulation and delivery of an engineering strategy which considers the factors of people, process and technology aligned to our technology and business strategies.

　　Development of an architectural roadmap that aligns to these strategies and shows a clear evolution of our platforms and technology.

　　Research and implement new software technologies that benefit our customers and give us a competitive edge.

　　Delivery in collaboration with Product and Business stakeholders against all agreed roadmaps for banking, funding, partners, platform and maintenance.

　　Drive quality throughout the systems development lifecycle, ensuring that engineering principles and best practices are being adhered to resulting in scalable solutions that meet security, performance and programming conventions.

　　Build, lead and mentor a high performing Engineering team.

　　Direct line management of Engineering Managers, QA Manager and Architects.

　　Lead engineering hiring to ensure we have a complete and high-performing Engineering team, including the recruitment and management of remote teams.

　　Manage budgets and capacity to support delivery.

　　Manage key third party suppliers ensuring they are performing and delivering to SLO's and SLA's.

　　Monitor team velocity and budgets to assess technological performance

　　Report on team activities, and ensure accurate planning and time estimation of engineering work

　　Build and maintain partner-relationships, ensuring seamless integrated software delivery

　　Contribute as a key member of the Technology Management team collaborating with all members to ensure that we deliver a world class experience to our customers.

　　Be a key point of contact for investor and third party due diligence exercises.

　　THE EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

　　BSc Degree in Computer Science, BTech, BEng or equivalent

　　Honours and/or Master's degree an added advantage

　　3-5 Years experience managing and scaling an engineering team or department

　　10 Years + experience working in software development with an in-depth understanding of .NET software technologies

　　In depth experience of building and supporting high performing/scaling software solutions

　　Experience defining and executing a technology a strategy

　　Experience working closely with a product team and within an agile environment

　　Financial services and banking experience advantageous
