InterContinental Dubai Marina is a Five Star luxury hotel in the heart of Dubai Marina with 328 rooms and residence suites, flexible event space and restaurants & bars. With over 30 languages and countries represented by the staff, the hotel weaves together an international five-star presence.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and team management. Our culinary team, comprising 40 dedicated chefs, are the heart of our dining experience. Our dedication to culinary excellence extends seamlessly from the lavish breakfast buffet and enticing a la carte lunches and dinners at Accents Restaurant and Terrace to the specially crafted themed buffets for unique occasions. The Deli entices with freshly prepared bakery delights and vibrant salads. Our nine state-of-the-art meeting rooms cater to executive events, accommodating gatherings ranging from intimate board meetings to conferences for up to 100 delegates and catering to premium partners.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence, a creative flair, and the ability to inspire and motivate the team.
Your role will be including but not limited to :
Culinary Leadership:
Provide visionary leadership to the culinary team, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and collaboration.
Design and execute innovative menus that align with the hotel's culinary philosophy and standards.
Menu Development and Planning:
Create and update menus for all venues, ensuring a diverse range of high-quality dishes that cater to different tastes and dietary preferences.
Collaborate with the Restaurant Team to develop seasonal menus and special event offerings.
Quality Control:
Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste are consistently met.
Implement and enforce food safety and hygiene standards, conducting regular kitchen inspections.
Team Management:
Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Manage kitchen schedules, work assignments, and performance evaluations.
Cost Management:
Develop and manage the kitchen budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining cost controls.
Work closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing and secure high-quality ingredients.
Innovation and Trends:
Stay abreast of culinary trends, incorporating new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings.
Continuously seek ways to elevate the culinary experience and maintain a competitive edge.
Guest Experience:
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless and exceptional dining experience for guests.
Respond promptly to guest feedback and make necessary adjustments to enhance satisfaction.
Event Coordination:
Work closely with event planners to create custom menus for special events and private functions.
Oversee the execution of catering services, ensuring the highest level of service.
Ideally, you'll have some or all the following qualifications and experience we're looking for:
Proven experience as a Head Chef in a similar establishment.
Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to create and execute innovative and appealing menus.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
