  H-2B Server (Summer 2024 Extension) | Montage Palmetto Bluff

  Montage Palmetto Bluff LLC D/B/A Montage Palmetto Bluff seeks 12 temporary, full-time (35 hours per week) Servers from 4/1/2024 to 11/30/2024 in Bluffton, SC.

  Requirements: No minimum education required. 3 months experience as a hotel/resort server required. On the job training provided. Must be conversant in English sufficient to respond to employer/guest requests.

  Duties: Serve/deliver food and beverages to patrons at tables in dining area; assist with opening and closing of restaurant or food and beverage area; set-up and tear down work station; prepare side work; take guest orders, advise kitchen of items ordered; serve/deliver requested items and present check to guest; and, clear tables.

  Hours: Minimum 35 hours per week guaranteed. Open 7 days per week. Multiple 8-10 hour shifts, varied schedule between 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Hours and shifts may vary with occupancy.

  Wage & Overtime: Tip position with guaranteed wage of $10.82. Employer guarantees offered wage in any given workweek when tip compensation does not make hourly wage equal/or exceed$10.82. Employer may increase wage based on experience and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed. Overtime wage is $16.23. Employer will use a single work week to compute wages due. Pay received bi-weekly.

  Deductions: Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law and deduct approved cost of housing and daily transportation if worker elects. Employer may deduct $5 for replacement name tag if employer-provided nametag is lost by employee.

  Housing & Daily Transportation: Optional employee shared housing, approximate rate $200-$250/week plus $300 deposit, refundable. Housing application fee $180, non-refundable, plus $50 per application. Utilities responsibility of and split between occupants. Daily transportation provided to/from housing/worksite for approx. $50-75/week.

  Fringe Benefits: 1 complementary meal per shift; 50% discount on Food & Beverage; Associate Accommodation Discount Program; 25% Retail discount; and, Discounted or complimentary usage of resort activities pending occupancy.

  Additional H-2B Terms: Employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform job. Required uniform provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.

  H-2B Travel terms: Employer will reimburse H-2B worker in first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees and need not include other charges primarily for benefit of the worker). If worker completes half the employment period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the employment period or where the worker is dismissed early, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $14.00 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts. All transportation costs are to be preapproved. If necessary, employer will reimburse worker within first pay period for approved cost of meals and lodging at the applicable exchange rate, not to exceed reasonable costs. Receipts must be submitted.

  Other Terms/requirements: Pre-employment criminal background check required, cost paid by employer. Must be able to work a 5 day schedule, including weekends and holidays as required. Applicant must complete an employment application. EOE/M/F/D/V
