About Group Product Manager

  Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Group Product Manager at our aerospace manufacturing facility in Fullerton, CA.

  The Group Product Manager is responsible for product pricing and insuring that quotes are issued in a timely manner; will be the focal point for capturing and communicating competitive and market information; will document and maintain a Long Term Agreements (LTA) database; and will develop and present product training to internal and external customers. Will also support new product development activities, plans, organizes, and controls an assigned product line from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives.

  Duties and Responsibilities

  Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products;

  Coordinates technical product development, estimates of potential profits, and release to production; manages day-to-day progress of product;

  Provides technical expertise and training to other departments in support of product development

  Conduct people management responsibilities, including hiring, job assignments, performance reviews, and other people management requirements. Identify key skills of team members to enable them to perform effectively and efficiently, in line with business needs and strategies, and develop the team’s skill base and knowledge

  Establish positive relationships with customer representatives and managers in procurement, logistics, engineering, program and project offices, and other personnel to convince customers of desirability and practicability of products or services offered

  Conducts marketing analysis to develop product definitions;

  Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities;

  Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product;

  Coordinates and develops marketing, sales, engineering, and financial plans for product line;

  Provides financial and technical justification for product selection and definition;

  Prepares product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market;

  Conducts market research and identifies and tracks market trends in company's industry;

  Produces competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors;

  Identifies partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products to broaden company's product line;

  Establishes dealer networks and creates and manages alliances with manufacturers;

  Participates in key sales situations for the product;

  Maintains communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for product line;

  Responsible for developing LTA strategies in conjunction with Sales and Operations. Captures and documents all LTA proposals that are presently being worked and follow-up on those that have been submitted but have not yet been awarded.

  Coordinates the creation and maintenance of system price curves and where applicable discount structures. Documents and communicates modifications made to pricing structure.

  Reviews and determines applicable charges associated with product cancellations.

  Adhere to all company policies and procedures and environmental health and safety rules. Work in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and environment. Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions. Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor.

  Ideal Skills and Abilities

  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills;

  Analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;

  Create reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals;

  Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public;

  Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry;

  Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;

  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  Proficient with MS Office applications. Advanced Excel skills (advance formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, VBA and macros, etc.), PowerPoint, Word, etc..

  Benefits/Salary:

  The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $120K to $145K.

  Basic Qualifications

  Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution;

  Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a product management environment;

  Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;

  This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  Preferred Qualifications

  Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Finance, or Marketing from an accredited institution;

  Experience in aerospace manufacturing;

  Preferred knowledge of Internally and Externally Threaded Fasteners, Panel Fasteners and Latching Systems

  Experience with Sales, Marketing and/or Pricing Analytics
