The group marketing manager, social creative is a consumer-minded leader ready to propel Starbucks into an innovative future. This multi-faceted creative brings social/digital agency or brand experience. They have extensive knowledge of social platforms, in addition to all forms of creative (photography, video, design, illustration, copy, etc.). This role partners with social strategy and marketing teams to take a connection- and culture-forward approach to go-to-market strategies. This leader brings bold vision and a strong point of view on how channel-specific creative works together to create best-in-class experiences that inspire customers and drive brand engagement.
As a group marketing manager of Social Creative , you will be responsible for the following:
Leadership - Setting direction for the working group, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
· Sets creative vision for Starbucks social marketing and empowers the team to use their talents as they bring objectives to life.
· Supports the development of social creative to fulfil company plans and campaigns, ensuring programs meet business and brand objectives while growing brand relevance.
· Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the team of direct reports has the direction they need to succeed, confidence in leadership, and the teamwork necessary to achieve business results.
· Provides clear direction and inspiration to agencies and social creative team in developing inventive, relevant, and engaging content – encouraging innovation, anticipating channel growth, and evolving at the speed of social.
· Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to build strong relationships, provide social best practices, and deliver work with a cohesive look and feel.
Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing productivity, and measuring results:
· Defines the creative teams’ scope and priorities.
· Prepares, communicates, and educates agencies and team on creative plans and best practices.
· Provides oversight of day-to-day creative planning and execution – guiding large initiatives and campaigns, in partnership with strategists, planners, and other members of the team.
· Through the lens of customer mindset and culture, this position shepherds social-first concepts from ideation to execution, prioritizing goals of innovation, learning, and brand relationship growth.
· Aids in the selection and onboarding of creative agencies and production partners.
· Develops, evolves, and delivers innovation in creative processes, workflow, and operations, focusing on efficiency and collaboration.
Partner Development & Team Building - Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:
· Challenges and inspires team members to achieve business results and contribute to a warm and inclusive environment.
· Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
· Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
· Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
· Manages team and individual performance. Supports development of direct and indirect reports.
We’d love to hear from people with:
· Social creative ACD/CD experience for large brands and/or digital agencies (7 - 10 years).
· Expert knowledge of creative executions and social media platform capabilities.
· Demonstrated experience taking a strategic and deeply consumer-minded approach to creative.
· Ability to think strategically and synthesize creative direction across multiple simultaneous projects to ensure a cohesive look and feel, spanning campaigns and channels.
· Broad understanding of established and emerging social platforms and their nuances. Ability to generate original campaign ideas and collaborate across functions to integrate social ideas with broader campaign frameworks.
· Demonstrated ability to execute against brand guidelines and bring brand voice to life in a consistent, ongoing manner across platforms.
· Concise, compelling communicator; persuasive and articulate. Able to answer difficult questions clearly and present to executives and leaders.
· Strong, positive people manager; understanding of operational management, talent development, and corporate processes.
· Compelling editorial POV that easily crafts impactful written messages designed to share and educate across a wide range of audiences.
· Ability to gain alignment and buy-in cross-functionally across a range of audiences and stakeholders.
· Innate desire to learn and push boundaries and embrace fresh thinking to navigate a dynamic customer landscape and business environment.
· Leader who will model and embrace Starbucks guiding principles.
