Position Our managers andsupervisors use Group Leaders to help coordinate production and manageteam members in their work area. Reporting either to a ProductionSupervisor or Manager, Group Leaders encourage teamwork andcollaboration and drive production goals. Their priorities are safety,quality, continuous improvement and employee development. The positionrequires strong communication, problem solving and time managementskills, the ability to work effectively with people and a technicalexpertise in the specific work to be performed. LeadershipResponsibilities Promote Safety as the Number 1 priority of all OMGemployees. Conduct regular safety meetings with work group. Displayintegrity, honesty and serve as a role model. Technical Responsibilities Schedule daily work anddirect team members to achieve safety, production, quality andcontinuous improvement goals. Demonstrate technical, functional and jobspecific knowledge required for assignments in work area. Assist withproduction needs as necessary, including equipment set up andtroubleshooting. Support performance management process by contributingto the review process, disciplinary actions and providing documentationrelated to performance. Challenge standard approaches and find improvedprocess to get work done. Consistently generate creative, resourcefulsolutions to problems. Make recommendations to reduce spending.Communicate to manager or supervisor regularly on team performanceagainst goals and individual contributor progress, immediately elevatingspecific issues or concerns. Perform other tasks as required.Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. 5 years+ technicalexperience relevant to specific work area preferred. Ability tounderstand written and verbal assignments, including the ability tointerpret related documents such as quality specifications, kanban cardsor work orders. Ability to understand and achieve compliance withcompany policies and procedures. Strong written and verbal communicationskills, including ability to build teams. 2+ years of Material Handlingexperience preferred. Basic PC skills including experience with MSOffice Suite preferred.
