This role will support the Installation Support Services (ISS2) contract support on Wake Island.
This position will require that the employee work on site at Wake Island. Transportation from Honolulu, Hawaii, to Wake Island will be furnished by government sponsored aircraft. The program will provide meals and housing while working on the island. Employees will reside in a dormitory-style housing environment, and the cafeteria commissary will provide daily meals. This role is perfect for someone who can remain away for long periods of time while working on the island with occasional scheduled trips back to Honolulu.
Key Role :
Perform services on Airfield Ground Support Equipment (AGE), consisting of Power Generators, K-Loaders, ECUs, and Air Compressors. They also operate this same equipment in the performance of aircraft support, both military and commercial.
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, analyzes, diagnosis, and using conventional digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.
Maintains external fuel and grounding systems
Inspects, tests, and operates AGE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation
Services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air
Diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications
Prepares equipment for storage and mobility deployment.
Maintaining vehicle/equipment records, uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.
Provides dispatch service, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations
Required to operate forklifts, hoists, and cranes.
Ensures good housekeeping, tool control, and safety measures to prevent Foreign Object Damage at all times.
Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements :
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
Minimum of four (4) years actual and recent experience in maintenance, repair, and corrosion control of ground support equipment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel,
Must be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend and twist at the waist, stand for extended periods.
May be exposed to heat and cold for extended periods during the work shift. May work inside building work bays on concrete floors and outside on concrete, asphalt or gravel tarmacs.
Ability to pass a physical and drug test
Ability to understand, speak, read, and write English.
Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquires background check
