　　The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive.

　　Much has changed since that time. Today the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation, owns and operates a Casino and a Golf Resort, and owns a number of other business ventures in the San Diego Region.

　　Job Purpose:

　　Cultivates and cares for ornamental plants and floral designs, golf course areas and surrounds.

　　Job Duties and Responsibilities:

　　(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

　　Maintains appearance of flower gardens, trees and ground cover by conditioning and preparing the soil, planting seeds, seedlings or bulbs, caring for ornamental plants and flowers, shrubs, and trees, watering and pruning plants and trees, recognizing and discarding dead or dying plants, and applying fertilizer as needed.

　　Ensures sprinkler systems are operational by routinely inspecting all landscape systems.

　　Maintains safe work area by observing established safety standards while using tools, performing equipment repairs, and cleaning and organizing work areas.

　　Maintain golf course turf and grounds by digging, mowing, raking and weeding. Learn Golf course cultural practices to move into a Greenskeeper II position.

　　Job Specifications:

　　Education and Experience:

　　Essential:

　　California Driver's License in good standing.Desirable:

　　High School Diploma or G.E.D.

　　Resort landscaping experience.

　　Golf course turf and grounds experience.

　　Skills and Knowledge:

　　Essential:

　　Ability to understand and follow written directions and verbal directives.

　　Ability to interacts effectively with team members and guests.

　　Ability to use tools of the trade.

　　Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours at a time.

　　Ability to crouch, bend and stoop.

　　Ability to grasp and lift up to 50 lbs.

　　Ability to climb a ladder.

　　Ability to appear for work on time.

　　Ability to accept constructive criticism.

　　Ability to maintain professionalism and composure.
