  Position Summary

  The School of Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver is seekinga detail-oriented, project-management-minded individual to serve as theGrants and Contracts Administrator for the Office of Education Solutions(OES). TheOESis an innovative hub of publicly and privately-fundedinitiatives aimed at addressing urban and rural PreK-12 settings in Coloradoand beyond. The Grants and Contracts Administrator will serve as thecentral, internal point of contact for all externally funded projects,working closely with theOES Executive Director and otherOESstaff; School ofEducation (SOE) leadership and staff; Principal Investigators andleads; the Office of Sponsored Research and Projects; Sponsored ProjectsAccounting and Compliance; theMSUDenver Foundation; faculty; and othersto optimize and maintain the infrastructure needed to achieve key objectivessupported by external funding.Reporting to theOESExecutive Director, theGrants and Contracts Administrator will be a self-starter who can communicateeffectively with faculty and staff across the University.This is a hybridposition with flexibility for both in-office and remote work, with thepossibility of a full remote schedule.

  MSU Denver enrolls over 17,000 students, where nearly 60% are firstgeneration and over 55% are students of color. Located in downtown Denver,we are a designated (HSI), an INSIGHT Into Diversity Higher EducationExcellence in Diversity () Award winner for 10 consecutive years, andthe only certified institution in Colorado. As the third largest institutionof higher education in Colorado and the only institution with an open accessmission, MSU Denver is a model university for today's college students.The University serves the most diverse undergraduate student population in thestate, as well as the most first-generation students and Deferred Action forChildhood Arrivals students. MSU Denver is particularly interested inapplicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgroundsand a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education forunder-represented and historically minoritized groups.

  Responsibilities

  Grants and Contracts Management (50%)Serve as project manager and central contact for team members through allstages of external funding processes from conception to completion(pre-award and post-award).Facilitate initial reviews of potential awards to determine managementprotocols.Facilitate communications between all relevant parties throughout the externalfunding process. Relevant parties may include faculty; the Office ofEducation Solutions (OES) and School of Education (SOE) leadership andstaff; the Office of Sponsored Research and Projects (OSRP); SponsoredProjects Accounting and Compliance (SPAC); theMSUDenver Foundation;and others.Work with PIs,OES, andOSRPand/or theMSUDenver Foundation to establishand follow uniform management tools, protocols, timelines, and processesfor submission of applications.Monito status of pending proposals, awards, contracts, and deadlines.Document terms of current and potential grants, contracts, and gifts.Provide accurate grants and contracts financial reporting and ensure deadlinesare met for private gifts.Ensure necessary documentation for grants, contracts, sub-awards,partnerships, Institutional Review Board, and other requirements.Monitor expenditures for compliance with awards, sub-awards, andcontractual requirements.Track and communicate with grants and contracts team about funding expirationsand continued funding needs of objectives, to keepSOEStrategic Plan andDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion priorities moving forward.Communicate updates and news from SPAC and OSRP related to grants.Monitor and route Time and Effort reporting per university procedures.Ensure all grant reports are complete and on time.Support PIs in the preparation and submission of reports.Close out awards and sub-awards.

  Purchasing and Budget Management (45%)Guide, facilitate, and serve as the central contact in the creation andmanagement of budgets for the life of each award.Coordinate with PIs to ensure plans for work comply with award terms and alignwith university and school fiscal and administrative processes.Estimate, track, and reconcile personnel and operating expenditures tosupport PIs in the efficient use of all funds within specific grant yearsandMSUDenver fiscal years.Collaborate withSOEFinancial Analyst and other personnel in the use ofestablished university and school purchasing and tracking procedures.Maintain contextual...
