Robert Half's Contract Finance and Accounting Team is looking for a Senior Accountant for a nonprofit client based in Portland, OR. This is a fully remote temporary position with a preference on Pacific or Mountain Time Zones. Primary Responsibilities: The Senior Accountant will manage a full range of accounting duties with a focus on grant fund accounting.
This individual will be expected to:
Oversee all invoice and grant fund accounting for the organization.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Perform complex, research-heavy reconciliations.
Utilize Sage Intacct accounting software for various accounting procedures and reporting.
Perform daily accounting activities such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, etc.
Play a crucial role in annual budgeting and forecasting process.
Ensure timely submission of expenditure reports to donors and maintain an up-to-date tracking system for all grants management activities.
Audit financial documents and procedures, reconcile bank statements, and calculate tax payments and returns.
Assist with IRS filings and other compliance requirements.
Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Requirements
Requirements:
3-5 years of federal grant and grant reporting experience.
Proven experience in performing complex, research-heavy reconciliations.
In-depth knowledge of Sage Intacct Grant Management system and/or other similar accounting systems.
Experience in the health care industry is preferred.
In-depth understanding and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular skills in Excel.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.
High level of integrity and dependability.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
