Grain Elevator Foreman - JOB DESCRIPTION
**DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise elevator operators and direct them to daily tasksWeigh and grade inbound and outbound grain on trucksLoad and/or unload any rail cars requiring releaseCheck for spilled grain and direct elevator operators in required clean up of such grainLock and secure all buildings, bins and all equipment including tools and small machineryInitial any timecard errors brought to your attention by elevator operatorsProperly document any unexcused absences of elevator operators
**WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES:Predictive/Preventative maintenance procedures including but not limited to: the checking of bearings, belts, gear reducers and pulleysCreate and file an approved check list for equipment maintenance proceduresSign all timecards being submitted for bi-weekly payroll by elevator operators
**MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect elevators, bins, pipes, augers, pits and attached equipment for leaks and/or damageInspect condition of all currently stored grain
**INTERMITTENT RESPONSIBILITIES:Clean and restore grain bins after all grain has been removedPreventative Maintenance including but not limited to: elevators, bootlegs, warehouses and binsGrounds maintenance including but not limited to: mowing; spraying; weed-controlCustodial maintenance of offices
**ANNUAL and/or SEASONAL RESPONSIBILTIES:Completely clean, spray and prepare bins for upcoming harvest
**PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN FOR THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE:Familiarity with agri-business and area producersPossession of Restricted Pesticide LicenseCommercial Drivers licenseElectrical knowledge, especially with 3-phase motorsWorking knowledge of various bearings sizes and applicable usageFollowing a purchase order protocolBasic computer knowledgeAbility to effectively and courteously communicate verbally with all staff and customersAbility to weld and use cutting torchAbility to operate heavy machinery including farm tractors and loadersAbility to climb to top of bins and elevators and work on machineryAbility to accurately weigh and grade grain according to Ga. Dept. of Agriculture standardsAbility to effectively lead and to direct work in teamsAbility to direct personnel under your supervision using effective verbal and written communicationAbility to efficiently plan at least one weeks work in advance for all personnel under your supervision
