Our team - Linux GPU Core KMD
contributes to GPU Driver that is the part of drm subsystem within Linux kernel.
As a member of the team you will work on kernel and test development for various software components.
You will be working closely with Linux kernel developers, kernel maintainers, test development engineers and architects.
You will grab hands-on engineering experience on simulation environments as well as gpu hardware.
Qualifications
You are expected to :
Join the team and be open for collaboration.
Be open for learning and absorbing domain knowledge across Intel graphics software stack
Work on code development, testing and debug of software stack running on Linux environment.
Assume responsibility of the work assigned. Root-causing, debug and resolve issues in your code.
Be open to contribute to Open-Source project following community rules and guidelines.
Qualifications:
The candidate for internship must be a student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and must maintain the student status during the internship.
Experience in setting up and maintenance of Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with C language and readiness to develop software in C for Linux umd/kmd environment.
Ability to learn quickly, absorb knowledge from different sources e.g. documentation, source code, chats with teammates.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English is essential, team is using English in every day communication.
Additional qualifications considered as assets :
Interest as well as experience in playing with kernel module drivers
Knowledge and hands-on in software development for Linux
Knowledge of git software revision control tools
Prior contributions to Linux kernel graphics driver or any other part of Linux kernel or any other open source project would be a strong asset

Working Model
This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
