  The Government Operations Consultant serves as support position for the Office of Resilience and Protection’s (RCP) Budget, Human Resources and Grants/contracts section.

  Your Specific Responsibilities:

  On carrying out the duties of this position, the incumbent is-expected at all times to be aware of and abide by the Department's Standards of Conduct, as well as any and all departmental and/or work unit rules, directives, policies, procedures, and/or general orders applicable to performing the duties of this position.

  Serves as a technical procedural assistance and support position for the Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection’s (RCP) Budget, Human Resources and Grants/Contracts section within the Division Director’s office. Monitors, reviews, and compiles budget reports for RCP Budget Coordinator to maintain consistency and accuracy of budget information. Assists with the purchase of supplies and materials, prepares purchasing requisitions and processes invoices for payment. Prepares correction memos, financial adjustment forms, release requests and processes payments in ELFF system as needed. Serves as liaison support for RCP-Bureau of Design and Construction Projects, statewide repair and maintenance projects, hurricane cost reporting and disaster repair projects, Office of Environmental Accountability and Transparency (OEAT) projects and financial tracking.

  Provides technical assistance and support to the RCP Grant and Contracts liaison with contract review, routing, tracking, management, and processing needs.

  Provides technical assistance and support to RCP’s HR liaisons with onboarding, separations, timesheets, people first requisition management and other areas as needed. This position will have access to view confidential information within the People First State Employment System and will assist with aspects associated with Human Resource/Personnel functions.

  Interpret established administrative policies and procedures. Represents the Division office with public officials, other government agencies and with the general public.

  Serves as a backup for Division office main telephone line and ensures inquiries are directed to appropriate programs and staff.

  Assists other program areas with a variety of special projects as needed. These tasks are usually administrative in nature and include compiling materials needed for training or creating documents as needed.

  Perform other duties as assigned.

  Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.

  Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

  Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.

  Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

  Skilled in Microsoft Office: Excel, word, outlook, etc.

  Ability to compile, review, and reconcile financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

  Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to contract and grants management activities.

  Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

  Ability to work independently.

  Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

  Ability to communicate effectively.

  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; or a ny combination of post-secondary education or verifiable related experience, as described in this posting, for a total of four years .

  A valid Class E driver license.
