  Description and Requirements

We are looking for a Credit Insurance Program Manager to join a team responsible for implementing and managing credit insurance policies to mitigate Lenovo’s risk of financial loss from customer non-payment or insolvency. It is a global role, based in Budapest and you will be reporting directly to the Chief Credit Officer for Lenovo Channel Solution and Service (CSS).

Candidates are not expected to have all the skills and experience from day one as this is a specialist area. Instead they would be trained and supported by a wider team so that later on they grew into this important role. The description below therefore represents what the role should become over time as the successful candidate gains the requisite skills.

  Your Main Responsibilities:

Understand the business plans of Lenovo and assess the credit insurance levels needed to support the strategy and mitigate the risk.

Manage the global credit insurance program on a day to day basis to ensure it adapts to the changing needs of the business at both worldwide and country levels. Coordinate renewals of existing credit insurance policies and implement new credit insurance policies as needed.

Develop close and trusting relationships with Lenovo’s insurers and brokers in the spirit of nurturing long term partnerships. Work with them to optimise insurance capacity and achieve creative solutions to business problems.

Support and liaise with internal teams in the Geos including Credit, Sales and Operations to ensure they understand how to optimise the insurance cover and comply with its terms and conditions, and assist with any escalations.

Review policies and internal processes to seek continual improvement in efficiency, simplicity and worldwide consistency as far as possible across all policies and insurers.

Ensure policies are signed, premiums paid and reporting delivered to insurers on time to avoid any risk of loss of cover.

Participate in regular calls and meetings with brokers and insurers to ensure timetable of actions are on track and fulfilled according to expectations.

Provide credit insurance support to the Lenovo Treasury team as needed to help them optimise cash and funding.

Protect the integrity, credibility and reputation of the Credit team at all times, being clear to insurers when a business decision rather than pure credit decision is needed.

Support Lenovo teams as needed on any queries relating to credit insurance and become a valued subject matter expert to the business.

  Useful Skills, Attributes and Experience:

Strong Finance background – may be in Credit, Sales, Operations, Treasury or other field

Some credit insurance knowledge would be an advantage

  Relationship management

  International experience

  Negotiating and influencing skills

Comfortable dealing at senior level (internally and externally)

Team player with integrity, enthusiasm, collaborative mindset, balance and a desire to learn something new

An open and stimulating environment within one of the most forward-thinking IT companies

Opportunities for career development & growth
