Job Title: Entry Level Driller Helper

Description:

Actalent is seeking a Driller Helper that is excited to learn more about being on a geotechnical drilling rig.

Working under the supervision of the Geotechnical Drilling Crew Leader

Will be working on an auger/rotary drilling machine

Will assist a driller in the field with soil boring, soil sampling, monitoring of well installation and rock coring

Hand write report findings

Collect and sort field samples for the lab

Replace drill augers and additional duties directed by the lead driller

Could travel 25% of the year through out the state of Kansas

Will be lifting and pushing upwards of 75+ pounds

Most of the work will be done outside

Hard Skills

Ability to push, pull, and lift specialized equipment up to 50 pounds

Assist with soil borings, soil sampling, and rock coring

Monitoring well installations

Reporting findings and collecting/sorting field samples for the lab

Replacing drill augers

Soft Skills

Love of the outdoors

Willingness to work during inclement weather

Ability to work on a small team

Handy with tools

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.

Work Environment

Remote field locations around the KC Metro, with potential for longer distances depending on the project.
