The City of Lima is currently accepting applications for the seasonal position of GenNext Site Leader in the Department of Workforce and Small Business Development. Under direction of the Workforce and Small Business Development Coordinator, this position will be responsible for the daily oversight, implementation, and logistical support of the GenNext Program. The GenNext Site Leader, in conjunction with the Department of Workforce and Small Business Development Coordinator, will effectively work towards achieving program outcomes. The specific duties of this position include program monitoring and supervision of the youth internships. Communicate with employers, parents of minors, and employment site personnel. The ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, is essential to maintaining the stability and nurturing atmosphere youth and employers need to succeed. The individual will have limited hours in March and possibly April with regular part-time hours starting in May ending no later than September 1, 2024. SALARY - $14.00 per hour; 20 hours per week EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
It is preferred that the Leader possess an Associate Degree and have 1-2 years of experience working with youth and or managing youth in a workplaceHigh School Diploma or GED is requiredAbility to speak and write Standard English appropriately in a business settingMust pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.First Aid and CPR certification required.Must possess strong computer skills and have the ability to track data and produce reportsPossess excellent communication, supervisory, administrative, and fiscal management skillsAt least six months of experience working with youth in a classroom or supervising youth in a workplace environmentStrong Math and English skillsPossess current Ohio driver's license and current automobile insuranceESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProgram Coordination and Implementation:
Follow policies and procedures for the operation of GenNextMaintains programmatic schedule and recordsMaintains communication with youth and employers about program function and adheres to protocol regarding employmentCollect, tabulate, and analyze employment and pre-employment outputsMaintain communication with employers, youth, and parents of minor youthFacilitates partnerships with community groups to bolster GenNext activity and program offeringsProgram Management:
Adheres to reporting requirements as needed by the applicable employer, provider, and GenNext policies and regulationsConnects with youth and employees weekly to manage employment needs. Visits each youth at work as needed but no less than every other weekMeets weekly with Workforce and Small Business Development Coordinator to manage program needsReports directly to the Workforce and Small Business Development CoordinatorMaintains attendance and timesheets, including but not limited to, weekly employment activity and youth participation, and communicates these in a timely mannerDevelops program evaluation tools and analyze GenNext program outcomesAdheres strictly to site and GenNext standardsOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
