Summary This GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST is located in the Operations Compliance Function, Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), Mission Support Group, at an ANG Aviation Wing and is part of the CA 147 CBCS. Responsibilities THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, GS-2001-9, is to provide centralized oversight of critical squadron programs. Measures LRS processes through inventory analysis, surveillance, trends and standards, develops and writes local policy/procedures and performs over the shoulder inspections. Also responsible for all funds management functions including satellite stock fund management in support of unit mission. Performs analysis on a wide range of technical squadron functions by analyzing historical and current data and identifying deficiencies or potential problems during surveillances or staff assistance visits. Monitors inventory losses by analyses of inventory discrepancies, adjustments, and trends to ensure the integrity of the base resources management system. Performs analysis on current or potential problems identified by flight management. Compares supply performance and maintenance interface data with prescribed standards to identify the effectiveness of supply support. Briefs upper level supervisors and managers in the interpretation of supply/financial management data reports. Advises management of compliance and/or procedural changes by squadron or supported activities. Serves as the point of contact for all customer problems unresolved at flight level. Performs in-depth research and special analyses and makes appropriate recommendations for improvement. Researches and develops checklists, and exercises internal management controls within the LRS. Required Receives incoming shipment discrepancy reports and evaluates and performs analyses on incoming and outgoing reports to ensure the effectiveness of the Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR) program. Analyzes and forecasts financial data to the Wing Finance function, Financial Management Board, and Maintenance Group regarding impact of Stock Number User Directory (SNUD) price changes that affect obligations. Reviews and/or directs the review of all USAF data system design center program releases for impact on supply operations for required procedural actions. The position resides within the infrastructure and support functions of the state National Guard; the incumbent is not subject to mobilization, nor is the work described part of the military mission; and the incumbent does not perform a key advisory or essential administrative role that is inherently military. In addition, the position must meet one of the following: It does not have a comparable military function; the position is required in full-time (civilian) role when the organization, or similar military position, is mobilized to perform continuing post-mobilization functions; or the position requires a skill or competency that necessitates technical expertise or professional qualifications that cannot be readily found in the military structure of the state military force. Qualifications GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, GS-2001-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements; Knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment; Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment; Knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures; Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc; Experience with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management; Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities.
