The Farm and Ranchposition will be required to perform any combination of the followingtasks to attend to livestock and farming operation: monitor, care forand move livestock using 4-wheelers and side by sides to
and from pastures for winter feeding while pastures are not producingfeed; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; assist withcalving; place mineral blocks; vaccinate livestock, herd into corraland/or stall and manually restraining animals; apply medications to cutsand bruises; spray livestock with insecticide; assist with castration oflivestock; clip identifying notches or brands animals; manually cleanstalls/corrals. Must be able to make minor equipment repairs, andperform routine maintenance and cleaning of farm implements, and operatetractors and farm implements required to plant, cultivate, and harvesthay and other pulse crops; must manually hoist/stack hay bales; pickrocks, basic maintenance of fence in rough terrain. Must be able to findand maintain bearings to grazing areas. The job entails working aroundfarm machinery, a variety of farm animals as well as exposure topredators and snakes. Most duties are performed out of doors, and entailexposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, rain and other environmentalconditions. Worker must be able to crouch, bend, lift and carry up to100 pounds. Additional hours and split shifts needed during haying,calving season. Driving is required on ranch only but if they have avalid drivers license may drive off the ranch. Increased wages and bonusmay be possible depending on experience.
