Boeing is seeking a Gear Deburr Operator to support our manufacturing team in Portland, OR .
Workers in this position operate chamfer and lapping machines, hand and air powered tools, to deburr and provide a high quality finish to machined parts, per drawings, specifications, work orders and engineering dispositions. Position requires a high degree of hand/eye coordination in completion of job functions.
Position Responsibilities:
Work with and interpret prints, sketches, work orders, charts, verbal instructions and other related information necessary to accomplish work assignments.
Use precision measuring instruments necessary to complete assignments.
Determine, set and adjust speeds, feeds and time cycle controls for own work operation.
Perform hand finishing operations of machined parts similar in kind and complexity.
Select, load, secure, mount, and change proper abrasive wheels, compounds, fixtures,machine attachments, equipment, etc., for deburr and chamfering operations.
Check own work operations for conformance to specifications.
Use hand and power tools necessary to complete assignment.
Prepare set-up sheets, as required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years experience in machine parts fabrication.
3+ years experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
3+ years experience working with precision measuring tools.
3+ years experience in gear cell machining/cutting.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years experience working with detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
5+ years experience using hand and/or air (pneumatic) tools.
5+ years experience working with precision measuring tools.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Relocation:
This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Shift:
This is a 2nd shift position.

Summary pay range: $20.00/hour - $42.80/hour
