About Gas Utility Construction Specialist

  Job SpecificationsCLOSING DATE: This position is set to close at midnight (CST) on January31, 2024.Design, estimate and manage the construction activities for basicresidential customer construction services. Complete forms, designservices, update inventory of parts in appropriate electronic system andcreate customer accounts. Ensure that customer accounts are set up accuratelyand that tariffs are consistently applied.PAY RANGE: $24.50 - $36.59 per hour (Determined by the knowledge,skills and abilities of the applicant.)REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager, Utility Construction PlanningLOCATION: Palmer Lake, COESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Review job types/work in Service Request tool and assign appropriately.Use various computer programs to prepare estimates and design basic gasconstruction jobs including new services, maintenance (including serviceline replacements and retirements) and third-party damages.Ensure that all work on assigned projects is planned so that construction canbe accomplished in a timely and efficient manner. Enter orders in system inorder to be scheduled.Explain company construction policies and procedures to customers and workwith customers to best satisfy needs.Provide backup for Utility Construction Planners on work order preparation,customer contact, technical assistance.Work with other departments to schedule construction of customer jobs toensure that customer needs are satisfied to the greatest degree possible.Coordinate with customer, internal field crews and contractors.Assure that gas construction follows company and industry codes and standards.Ensure accurate mapping of facilities.Code and approve contractor job invoices and write work orders for 3rd PartyDamages.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Promote culture of safety, compliance, collaboration and continuousimprovement.Perform and manage special projects that may be assigned.Provide support to other areas of the Company as requested or assignedincluding the assistance with storm restoration as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of (3) three years of utility environment, constructionenvironment or relevant experience required.High school diploma or equivalent is required.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-task environment as acollaborative team member.Independent, well-organized, self-starter and able to adapt to change.Ability to develop and implement work processes which contribute to increasedefficiencies.Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Ability to accurately resolve customer complaints in a diplomatic andprofessional manner.Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.Strong communication skills; ability to professionally collaborate withcustomers and individuals across the organization in written and verbalcommunications.Excellent organizational skills.This description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list ofresponsibilities, duties, and requirements for employees in this position.Job descriptions may and do change periodically.
