JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description Job Summary: The primary responsibility ofthe Steam/Gas Mechanic is to safely accomplish the installation,maintenance and repair of the heavy rotating machinery used mainly inpower generation applications. Turbine Mechanics work closely withSupervisors, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to achievethese goals. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively driveour FieldCore vision and align with our organization\'s core values.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Dismantle, assemble, move andalign, machinery and equipment using: hoists, cranes, chain falls, handtools, power tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, micrometers, rules,squares, plumb bobs, dial indicators and/or laser alignment equipmentRead blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation todetermine proper work procedures Responsible for shipping and receivingall major pieces for T&DC, plus all shipping, receiving, inventory, andcontrol of tools, equipment and supplies Perform material and machineinspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers,rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches Perform machining andwelding operations for making various parts for lab and shop trainingequipment Determine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists forpurchasing, consisting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devicesas needed to complete assigned projects Load, transport, and unloadmaterials, tools, equipment and supplies and perform mechanical andelectrical maintenance and repairs as needed Read blueprints, schematicdrawings and technical documentation to determine proper work proceduresInstall machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprintsand other drawings in industrial establishments Ability and willingnessto work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by fieldassignments. Required Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of one (1)years\' experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machineryand industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans,generators, and turbines Valid Driver\'s License Preferred:Degree/Associate Degree in Technical Field or Gas Turbine SystemsDesired Characteristics: Ability to disassemble and reassemble complexrotating equipment - Bolting, Hydraulic Bolting, Flange Management,Small Bore Piping, Basic Rigging/Lifting, O/H Crane Operator Proficientin the following: mechanical/technical skills, oral communicationsskills, Critical Thinking Manage time-sensitive tasks...
