This position runs the day to day project operations of the centralized Southwest PA training program. It is a system position that falls under the UPMC Center for Nursing Excellence and reports up through the Chief Nurse Executive. The position will also be responsible for curriculum standardization of NA/PCT onboarding for the system as well as contributing to the PCT residency program.
Hours: Class time begins at 7:30 and goes to 3pm. We would expect the project manager to generally be present during start and end times. However, we can consider flexibility depending on independent needs. There are days during the curriculum that class is not in schedule and can be hybrid work from home days. There are also portions that have guest lectures which could promote flexibility in the workday.
Purpose:
Assist in the planning, organization, of corporate functions, initiatives, and communication activities. These projects will result in value for patients and staff throughout the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Supports and leads corporate initiatives within the department and with departments and hospitals across the enterprise, to work on processes to improve communication and patient care activities.
Plans, researches, writes and edits copy for print, video and e-communications such as agendas, memos, websites, SharePoint, newsletters, etc.
Provides guidance and monitors graphic design and production process to align scope of project-messaging-and audience.
Plans, collects, and analyzes outcomes.
Manages project assignments, staff, and/or students.
Serves as a liaison with other hospital and business units, staff, physicians, and other leadership.
Facilitates/coordinates project team meetings and building working relationships
Interacts with all levels of the enterprise including but not limited to CNOs, executive staff, clinical staff, Directors, etc.
Completes follow-up analysis and evaluation of projects and activities.
Prepares reports and presentations for a variety of customers
Manages, organizes, and implements assigned projects and activities that improve the patient and staff experience, patient and staff engagement and outcomes across the enterprise.
Coordinates educational activities that support specific project outcomes and/or support the vision of the organization.
Creates strategy, oversees, and manages communications of varying levels of complexity and sophistication.
Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related business field required. Minimum of four years of related work experience. Master's degree preferred (Four+ years' experience will be considered).Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred. Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent computer software packages. Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required. Excellent Project Management skills along with effective planning and organizational skills. Ability to perform planning for large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to providing services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
