rResponsibilities
rThe Ahamed lab{target="_blank"rel="noopener"} is looking for a full-time or part-time ResearchTechnician. Our laboratory studies mouse models of heart diseases with aparticular focus on fibrosis. We utilize state-of-the-art techniques ingenetics, molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry. Theposition involves breeding of our mouse colony, performing experimentsutilizing a variety of techniques, analyzing data, contributing tomanagement and contributing to laboratory management and oversight.
Assists, as needed, with administering injections, medications,venipunctures, applying wound dressings, and with diagnostic proceduresas directed by supervisor and/or consulting veterinarian.
Identify, prepare and perform a variety of research experimentsaccording to protocol. Projects and assignments are typicallynon-routine and variable in nature. Receive no instruction on routinework, but receive instructions on new work or special assignments.Collect and present data to Manager or Principal Investigator.

rQualifications
rrrrBachelors degree typically in one of the biological sciences and/orequivalent years of relevant laboratory experience.Should be familiarwith lab techniques. Apply developing knowledge to coordinate day-to-daywork, complete a variety of detailed tasks and assignments. Basicknowledge of Internet software, order processing system, data base andMicrosoft Office software. Must be detail oriented and workindependently as well as a team player.Ability to read and comprehendinstructions, s ort correspondence and protocols/procedures. Ability towrite routine reports and correspondence. Ability to compute basicmathematical operations, i.e., rate, ratio, percent, molarity, and unitconversion. Ability to organize and perform precise and accurate workwhen dealing with samples and chemicals.Ability to speak effectively topresent ideas and data analysis to supervisor, who will decide how toproceed. Suggest changes to experiments and procedures. Ability toexchange ideas and procedures with co-workers and other labs.rrrr
