　　BASIC PURPOSE :

　　The primary purpose of the Staff Accountant position is to analyze specific company activities including fuel inventory, fuel margins, account reconciliation, and monthly close. The Staff Accountant is also responsible for the completion and analysis of work papers and special projects as assigned.

　　MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Responsible for the analysis and distribution of the Daily Flash (Fuel Margin) Report.

　　Responsible for working with the tax team on maintaining accurate fuel tax information that impact Love’s Travel Stops.

　　Assist in the annual audit of Love’s and Musket.

　　Use discretion and independent judgment in developing enhancements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

　　Enhance efficiencies through independent analysis of auditing of control procedures.

　　Identify and assess potential opportunities for improvement.

　　Interact with other departments and operations.

　　Other duties assigned as needed.

　　EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

　　Education:

　　HS Diploma or equivalent required

　　Accounting degree required

　　Experience:

　　1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.

　　1-3 years of reconciliation experience preferred.

　　SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

　　Hard Skills:

　　Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications and computer programs;SAP knowledge a plus; fuel experience a plus.

　　Soft Skills:

　　Ability to handle a continuous stream of work; ability to interact with a great diversity of people; must have excellent attention to detail and analytical skills; mustbe able to meet deadlines; be reliable and meet departmental key performance metrics.

　　Typical Physical Demands:

　　Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.

　　Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

　　Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.

　　Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
