About Front End Engineer II, Talent Development

  Talent Development Journey team's mission is to make it easier for Amazonians to build rewarding careers in Amazon's peculiar culture. To deliver on this mission, Talent Development tech team is building a talent development ecosystem (TDE) which empowers human judgement, action, and interaction to make it easier to learn and grow in Amazon's peculiar culture. TDE enables authoring high quality content, delivering personalized learning experiences, and measuring proficiencies at scale.As a Front-End Engineer (FEE) on Talent Development, you will be responsible for the feature design, development, test, and deployment of components for a new platform for recording the learning experience of Amazon employees. As a FEE, you will be responsible for setting a high bar throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations. You will collaborate closely with other software developers, data engineers, data scientists, and learning scientists.You are familiar with (and can learn) the basic patterns of expert system pipelines. You will be working closely with education scientists and domain experts. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing distributed systems, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically.We're working hard, having fun, making history; come join us!We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and NodeOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
