Description/Job Summary
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Receive, stock, and stage raw materials and packaging materials to ensure manufacturing is done efficiently. Wrap and label finished goods for shipment to customer. Collect and process scrap either for reuse or recycling.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic math
Must be able to read a ruler and measure in US standards
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Experience driving a fork truck for 5 years or as B grade Forklift Driver for 3 years
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel both in writing and verbally
Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
TRAINING
Previous experience and/or training is ideal, but not required.AUTHORITY/DECISION MAKING
Periodically observe finished goods coming off the production lines and if detects sub-standard product, take immediate corrective action to eliminate any problems.
Report all problems to technician or supervisor, if needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. JOB TASKS & DUTIES
Material Management: Support inventory management by unloading, receiving, and stocking raw materials (resins). Manage packaging materials (pallets, corrugated sheets) to further support production by staging material and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Shipping and Receiving: Works with logistics department by loading/unloading trailers using forklifts or pallet jacks.
Finished Pallet Management: Wrap and label pallets for shipping according to internal and customer packaging plan.
Sanitation management: Assist in the maintenance of a clean work environment.
B. MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE
Operate Fork Trucks, Pallet Jack, and miscellaneous hand and measurement tools as necessary (i.e. rulers, safety knives, etc.).C. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.
Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. DEGREE OF LIFTING: up to 50 lbs.
D. WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION
Indoor work: May be subject to higher temperatures during summer months. Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard. May be subject to odors and dust.
